Earlier today, it was revealed that Josh Brolin had officially landed the role of Cable in the upcoming Deadpool sequel. On top of that, the actor signed a four-film contract that will extend through the X-Force films.
Fans have been waiting on the Cable casting for over a year now, tracking every move that the Deadpool creative team has been making. Still, no matter how much anyone prepared, we weren't ready for this news.
Brad Pitt, Michael Shannon, and plenty of others were rumored throughout this casting process, but Brolin never came up. This announcement was a total surprise, and people are reacting accordingly.

Normally, big casting decisions like this bring about a lot of conflict between fans. There's always one section of the fanbase that believes the casting is perfect, and the other side is totally unhappy.

While there is plenty to be happy about, a lot of people are pretty confused about this choice. Josh Brolin is great, but he already has a major role in another superhero property.
Brolin is currently playing Thanos, the main villain in Avengers: Infinity War. Folks are a little confused as to how he's allowed to participate in both franchises.
