Avengers: Infinity War: Scarlett Johansson Teases Devastating Hulk & Black Widow Reunion
Last time Black Widow and the Hulk were together on the big screen, the two Marvel heroes had developed a bit of a romantic relationship. It all started in Avengers: Age of Ultron, where is appeared it may have also ended.
In the wake of being looked at a monster by the world for destroying part of an African city while under the mind control of Scarlet Witch, Bruce Banner elected it was time for him and the Hulk to leave Earth. He will be resurfacing in the cosmos of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Thor: Ragnarok before reuniting with the Avengers in Avengers: Infinity War. The reunion, we now know, will involve an emotional sequence with Black Widow, according to Scarlett Johansson's account of it.
"I just finished Avengers: Infinity War. The first one," Johansson told Bravo. "My character has this ongoing relationship with Mark Ruffalo's character. I had such devastation that day. I don't know why. I was so devastated. It was something about this character that Mark plays, and this is something that should feel so solid and suddenly doesn't or there's… And it reminded me of so much of the things going on in my own life at the time…"
Johansson does manage to choose words which keep it unclear whether or not it is the scene which had her feeling devastated or some other part of her process as an actress. In any case, the reunion between Natasha Romanov and Bruce Banner will be packed with high-level emotions of some sort as the characters will be two of a few standing before the complete destruction of the world by Thanos.
There will also be a lot of catching up to do between the two Marvel heroes. While Black Widow has remained planted on Earth where she played both sides of the game in Captain America: Civil War, a feud which tore the Avengers apart, the Hulk has been exploring uncharted corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He appears to have found a lifestyle which he enjoys in the Sakaaran gladiator arena under the Grandmaster's encouragement from what Thor: Ragnarok has unveiled thus far.
