Anticipation is high for Chris Hemsworth's upcoming Thor: Ragnarok, and while there will be updates and additions to the third film in the franchise, I don't think anyone anticipated this.
In his latest tease from the Ragnarok set, Hemsworth posted a sneak peek at his new hammer, and to call it a downgrade would be more than kind. The caption reads "chrishemsworth#Thor3, expect big and little changes."

It's certainly utilitarian. Who knows, maybe the God of Thunder just felt like Mjolnir was too big and gaudy, and decided to go with something more grounded. He could call himself "the Toolman of Thunder", and instead of Asgardian armor could wear a modest polo and khakis number, like the Marvel Universe version of Andy Bernard from The Office.
All kidding aside, the film is heavily anticipated, but not for changes to Thor's trademark hammer. The stellar cast and rumored Planet Hulk tinged storyline are more what fans are looking forward to. Many, including me, just can't get enough of the Thor and Hulk duo on the big screen, and November 3rd, 2017 can't get here soon enough.
