The Comic-Con 2017 Movie Trailers Ranked
San Diego Comic-Con 2017 brought (less than) the expected amount of reveals and footage for some [...]
4. Ready Player One
Steven Spielberg is a master in creating cinematic fantasy and adventure - and he's using both skills to craft Ready Player One, an adaptation of the popular book by Ernest Cline (who is helping with the screenplay).
The movie chronicles a treasure hunt in a world of video games, where we'll see iconic movie figures like The Iron Giant making cameos. It's a novel concept, and the sheer amount of fan service Easter eggs left the crowd in Hall H pleasantly surprised and excited for what Spielberg has to offer.
However, since this was a new and previously unestablished film property, the excitement level for Ready Player One is still building.

3. Kingsman: The Golden Circle
20th Century Fox let a lot of fans down by not bringing any of the films currently planned or in production for its X-Men universe. Instead first footage from Deadpool 2 or X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Fox put all of its hopes on the mega-star-studded cast of Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
Granted, seeing stars like Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Jeff Bridges, and Colin Firth on stage together was a one-of-a-kind novelty; however, the trailer for Kingsman 2 - while crazy and fun and totally NSFW - was not on the level of epicness that people sleep outside all night to get from Hall H.

There were a ton of not-so-great rumors swirling around Justice League heading into Comic-Con, so instead of getting to take the lead or set the pace for the upcoming DC superheor team-up event, Warner Bros. and DC Films unfortunately found themselves playing defense against negative speculation, once again.
The Justice League Comic-Con trailer was by far the most epic showcase of the film's characters, story, and epic DCEU crossover moments that we've ever seen, but it wasn't necessarily the most fun comic book movie trailer to ever hit the 'Con.

prevnext1. Thor: Ragnarok
The undisputed winner of SDCC 2017 was no doubt Thor: Ragnarok! Marvel's third entry in the Thor franchise unveiled a crazy and fun trailer, that had teases of more epic MCU moments, team-ups and iconic villains than fans ever expected (Fenris Wolf and Surtur FTW!).
The key word in all of this is "fun." Other Comic-Con trailers showcased awesome action and iconic moments/characters, but only Ragnarok seemed like it was crafted with true understanding of who the audience at Comic-Con is, and what really tickles their fancy.
We expect that anticipation for Thor: Ragnarok is now higher than ever - let us know how excited you are for it by voting in our anticipation rankings, below!
