Deadpool has become one of Hollywood's most recognizable superheroes, and the franchise's sequel hopes to add two more mutants to that list. Cable and Domino are set to debut in Deadpool 2 next year, but Zazie Beetz wants fans to know it is difficult to play a mercenary.
Entertainment Tonight caught up with Beetz last night at an after-party for the Emmy Awards. The actress was asked about her work on Deadpool 2, and Beetz admitted shooting the sequel has been difficult.
Why? Well, it all has to do with hitting the gym.
"It's hard," Beetz revealed. "I've been training a lot, and I'm naturally not one to gym, so that's been a learning experience."
The actress continued, praising Ryan Reynolds in particular for his spot-on work as Wade Wilson.
"Honestly, it's been amazing watching Ryan do his thing because you think, 'Oh, he has the mask on and you can ADR all of it' or whatever, He's genuinely incredibly talented, and it's pretty impressive to watch," Beetz gushed."He's just really good. For me, this is the biggest thing I've done, so I've just been observing. It's been a good vibe set to observe with really talented people."
Beetz isn't the first Deadpool 2 lead to praise Reynolds for his work. Last month, Josh Brolin opened up about his Cable gig, and the actor had only good things to say about the star.
"He's an amazing guy, very smart and really sweet — and really handsome," Brolin told Entertainment Weekly.
"He's a smart guy, he's the one who saw this and tried to get this movie made for eight years and was unable to," the actor continued. "I think has such a perfect sensibility. He's a great producer on it, there's a lot to trust there."
Deadpool 2 opens in theaters on June 1, 2018. If you liked the first Deadpool movie, then give it your personal rating below!
