Kevin Smith has seen plenty of superhero films, but there is one scene in particular that shatters him no matter how many times he sees it.
That scene is rather recent as well, occurring towards the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Smith took to Facebook Live to share his thoughts on the scene, and there will be big spoilers for the film going forward, so you've been warned.
For context, Smith has already viewed the scene multiple times in the theaters, but each time it seems to turn him into a puddle.
This moment. This tiny f****** moment, in cinematic history, is so huge, so indelible, that I'll never forget it, and I've seen this movie three times in the movie theater. This is the first time I'm watching it since it hit home video, and I could not wait to see this moment. Three times I saw this in the theater, and three times I just balled man, because oh my God it's crazy.
That tiny moment, of course, has to do with the death of Yondu, who gives his life to save Peter's. At this point, Smith was already tearing up, but he then hits the Ravagers funeral scene, and that's truly the moment where he falls apart.
As you can see in the video, it doesn't take long for the waterworks, as Smith points out all of the Yondu references early in the scene and then just watches like any fan would. Not going to lie, it's a wonderful scene, and honestly hard not to tear up. Granted, that could be the whole thing of watching someone else cry and then you cry, but still, have a soul man!
Smith describes the moment as "hands down one of my favorite moments in cinematic history, and it only happened a couple of months ago and stuff, so I'm 47, so that's 46 years of being cognizant of what a movie is and stuff like that. Lots of memories of movies."
Director James Gunn shared Smith's video, loving the reaction. "Okay this is one of my favorite things ever - Kevin Smith watching the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and crying," Gunn said. "Obviously: SPOILERS."

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 currently enjoys an 85.18 on ComicBook.com's anticipation rankings. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is on video on demand now and hits Blu-ray/DVD on August 22nd.
