These days, Hugh Jackman has some time on his hands. The leading man is take a bit of a break after being busy for much of last year. After more than a decade, Jackman just bid farewell to his iconic work with the X-Men films thanks to Logan. The dark, R-rated blockbuster gave Jackman a somber out from the franchise, and fans have loved the film as much as the critics. With Wolverine no longer on his back, Jackman is taking a well-deserved break before he heads up other projects. And, now, the Australian actor is using some of his vacation to explore the wonderful world of Throwback Thursday.
That's right. If you thought mutants didn't know about hashtags, then think again.
Over on Twitter, Jackman shared a dangerous behind-the-scenes still from Logan. In the image, the actor can be seen in-character with Logan's claws full extended. Holding the adamantium weapons over his face, Jackman can be seen snarling into a camera whilst wearing a bloodied suit. In front of him, a camera operator can be seen filming a close-up of Jackman, and the actor does look properly scary.
You can read up on Hugh Jackman's caption below:
"I guess wrapped film stills are acceptable for [Throwback Thursday]. And, if not, I just made it so."
Logan takes place in the year 2024, where mutant births have become extremely rare. The defenders of mutant kind, the X-Men, are long gone, and the only remains of them are an old and struggling Charles Xavier and a weary Logan. Logan's vaunted healing factor has slowed, and at times doesn't seem to work at all. When a young mutant needs his help, Logan has to unsheathe his claws once more. His job isn't over yet.
Logan stars Hugh Jackman (Logan), Boyd Holbrook (Donald Pierce), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier), Dafne Keen (Laura Kinney/X-23), Doris Morgado (Maria), Stephen Merchant (Caliban), Elizabeth Rodriguez (Gabriela), and Richard E. Grant (Dr. Zander Rice). James Mangold is directing and helped on the screenplay along with Scott Frank and Michael Green.
