If things play out in his favor, Actor John Boyega, of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens fame, could have another marquee franchise on his resume very soon.

Now, this is based on a great deal of conjecture and circumstantial evidence, so I stress the word rumor greatly. According to Screenrant, there is a very real chance that Boyega could be meeting with Black Panther Director Ryan Coogler about a possible role in T'Challa's solo outing, which is set to release on February 16th, 2018.

The newest evidence comes via Boyega's snapchat account, where a recent post was labeled with the caption "Meeting". A bit after that message went live, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige started following Boyega on Twitter. Later there was an article from Heroic Hollywood that contained the snippet: "Hot, unconfirmed scuttlebutt is telling me Star Wars: The Force Awakens star John Boyega may be meeting for the film as well."

Boyega was actually pining for the T'Challa role before Chadwick Boseman was cast, so it would stand to reason that he still would like to be involved in the project, and the fact that Kevin Feige has confirmed that Black Panther will consist of about 90% African-American or African cast members only ups his chances.

Having a young up and coming actor like Boyega would only benefit the film, so it stands to reason that there might be some legitimacy to the rumor, but as to in what role he would be cast in, it's hard to say.
