Spider-Man: Homecoming Trailer - Every Marvel Cinematic Universe Easter Egg
After a long wait, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures finally made good on their promise: the first [...]
Chitauri Technology
It looks like the rumors were true. Earlier this year, stories began to circulate that more alien tech would present itself in Spider-Man: Homecoming thanks to the Chitauri. The allusion was said to more strongly connect Spider-Man to previous event in the MCU, and it seems like the upcoming film will feature some Chitauri-inspired tech a la The Avengers. In one of the trailer's scenes, fans watch as a group of bank robbers charger up some hi-tech weapons to steal thousands of dollars, and their arsenal looks very similar to what the Chitauri warriors used when they invaded New York City several years back.

In Avengers: Age of Ultron, the superhero squad traded in their digs at Tony Stark's sprawling tower to a new, outskirt facility in New York. The hundred acre area houses the team's hi-tech equipment and training simulators, and it looks like Spider-Man will be visiting the locale in Homecoming. The trailer features a scene where Tony and Peter are talking briefly about a villain known as the Vulture, and the facility's Avengers logo can be seen on a lift door in front of the two.

After Tony Stark learns Peter Parker is planning on interfering with the Vulture, the armored Avenger has some rather interesting words to say. The billionaire philanthropist tells his protege that there are others who will take care of the flying villain, but fans know the hero doesn't mean local law enforcement. After all, what good would a pistol do against the Vulture's hi-tech wings? No, it's far more likely that Tony is either referring to what's left of the Avengers or even the Sokovia Accord agreements. There's also the distinct possibility he means SHIELD since the organization was recently reinstated as a public operation in Agents of SHIELD.

At the end of the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer, fans are shown a dire scene wherein Peter Parker suits up to save a sinking ferry. The ship, which was blasted apart thanks to the Vulture, is on its way to the ocean's floor when Spider-Man steps in. The hero uses his powerful webbing to hold the ship's halves together, leaving him torn between the two. The scene is very reminiscent of the scene in Spider-Man 2 when Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man uses his webbing to stop a runaway train from derailing.

It's good to know that Bruce Banner is known for more than just his angry alter-ego. The genius scientist is apparently considered to be a great like Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein. In a short scene of the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer, fans can see a picture of Banner hanging in a classroom to the right of other notable scientists, so you know Tony Stark has got to be jealous about that.
prevnextHoward Stark Mural
Bruce Banner is not the only genius who students look up to in the world of Spider-Man: Homecoming. In another scene from the trailer, fans can spot a picture of Howard Stark amongst a wall mural at Peter Parker's school. The mustached man fits in on the green-blocked wall, but Peter is a bit too bummed out about his fledgling superhero status to pay the inventor proper respect.

Thanks to one eagle-eyed Reddit user, fans now know that a friend of Peter Parker's has an obsession with Captain America. TheAbominableLegend snagged a screenshot from the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer that shows Peter visiting a classmate of his who knows about Spider-Man. Though it's hard to see, fans can make out a rumple bed sheet underneath Peter's friend that is imprinted with Captain America, but it's only a matter of time until Spider-Man takes the First Avengers place.
prevnextPepper Potts, Peter Parker T-Shirt Connection
You've got to give props to Tumblr user Peggy-Carter for spotting this insane easter egg from the Iron Man movies. The netizen noticed that one of the shirts Peter Parker is wearing in the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer is one which Pepper Potts has worn previously. Fans have already wondered whether this means the generous CEO gifted Peter the shirt when she had to retrieve him after the battle in Captain America: Civil War, but for now, it seems like their fashion snafu is just a subtle coincidence.
prevnextCivil War Battle Footage
In Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man made his debut by webbing weapons and taking down Giant-Man. The hero still craves that kind of action after the showdown between Iron Man and Captain America ends, but Peter can still relive the experience thanks to a well-placed security camera. In the trailer, fans can see Peter watching found-footage of his fight against Ant-Man, and the vigilante clearly he wishes he could take on Scott Lang once more.
prevnextThe Avengers Unmasked
One of the first scenes from the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer shows the teenage hero beating down some wannabe robbers at a bank. Clearly, the thugs don't stand a chance against Spider-Man, but Peter does give them the benefit of the doubt thanks to the crew's goofy masks. Each of the men are wearing Avengers masks like Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America. Spider-Man jokes with the would-be thieves before incapacitating them, but he makes sure to throw in a few good jokes before doing so.
