Thor: Ragnarok isn't going to be like the previous two Thor films, which as a series has always been a little different than its fellow Marvel Studios films.

Part of the difference this time around is the tag team of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), which promises to be endlessly entertaining. Add in stars like Cate Blanchette, Jeff Goldblum, and Karl Urban, and mix it up with a plotline that is equal parts Ragnarok and Planet Hulk and you've got a recipe for something altogether different.

The corralling of all these actors and plotlines is the responsibility of Director Taika Waititi, who spoke to Polygon about how Thor: Ragnarok is different than previous entries, and what has changed since the movie started filming.

"It's hard to say what the movie is because it's changing," he said. "The plot has changed and the script has changed. There are buddy elements to it between Thor and the Hulk, but who knows what the final movie will look like."

Those aforementioned buddy elements will be key in the finished product, regardless of what other changes occur.

"This movie really celebrates that group of misfits who are on the run," Waititi said. "There was something exciting about it and I wanted my movie to be exciting and fun. Watching everyone run amok on screen and enjoying themselves is what I wanted to make going into it."

While he is working with someone else's property, the director says they've allowed him to do what he wants.

"I feel like a guest in Marvel's universe but with the creative freedom to do what I want," Waititi mused, and that has resulted in a truly unique film.

"I think this is the most different Marvel movie to date and one of the biggest."

Thor: Ragnarok touches down on November 3rd, 2017.
