Tryangle Films' unofficial Harry Potter fan film Voldemort: Origins of the Heir explores the origin of Tom Riddle, the dark wizard destined to become Voldemort, the most dangerous villain to ever threaten the wizarding world.

"What made Tom Riddle become Voldemort?" poses the synopsis.

"What happened in those years, and what really went down at Hogwarts when he came back? There are some clues in the books which have not been transposed at all in the movies, but a lot goes unspoken. This is the story we want to tell: the rise of the Dark Lord before Harry Potter and his first demise."

The Italian fan film, from writer-director Gianmaria Pezzato, is inspired by — but not affiliated with — Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling or studio Warner Bros., who produced all eight Harry Potter films and spinoff-slash-prequel series Fantastic Beasts.

Origins of the Heir introduces original characters Wiglaf Sigurdsson, heir of Rowena Ravenclaw, and Lazarus Smith, heir of Helga Hufflepuff.

The half-blood Riddle was born by way of Love Potion, the son of Tom and Merope Riddle.

Abandoned as a baby, Riddle eventually attained immortality and split his soul into eight fragments, hiding them away in seven cursed objects known as Horcruxes — one of which was Harry Potter, dubbed "the boy who lived," who would be frequently targeted by the dark lord in his years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Harry and Voldemort proved mortal enemies, the villain eventually succumbing to his own backfiring killing curse after all Horcruxes were destroyed.

Actor Raph Fiennes portrayed the adult iteration in the cinematic Harry Potter saga.

Warner Bros. delves into the history of the Harry Potter franchise with Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, which will offer a look at a younger Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law).

The eponymous Grindelwald (Johnny Deep) serves as lead villain in the Beasts franchise, but it's possible the series could in the future come re-introduce Tom Riddle, who first encountered Dumbledore in the 1930s.

Segments of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the series' sixth installment, explored portions of Riddle's past by way of flashback.

Voldemort's daughter, half-blood witch Delphini, was introduced in sequel stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Warner Bros. recently debuted new photos from The Crimes of Grindelwald, opening November 16.
