Evangeline Lilly

Two of the leading entertainment trade magazines are reporting that Evangeline Lilly is up for the female lead role in Ant-Man. According to Variety, their insiders are indicating Lilly will play the daughter of Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and the love interest of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd). According to The Hollywood Reporter, it's unclear who Lilly is playing, but her role would not be a one-off appearance. Of course, the suggestion that Lilly will make multiple film appearances could be a hint that her role is Janet Van Dyne aka The Wasp. If Lilly is up for The Wasp role, it would definitely require a multi-picture deal, because The Wasp could factor into future Avengers sequels. Lilly has past experience in action movies and TV shows, so she would be a good fit to play a superheroine. Among pop culture fans, she's best known for playing Kate in ABC's LOST and Tauriel in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Ant-Man is set to be released in movie theaters on July 17, 2015.
