Paul Bettany, the British actor best known to comic book fans for voicing Tony Stark’s J.A.R.V.I.S. robot butler/sidekick system, will take on the role of The Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron, The Daily Mail reports. That certainly lends credence to fan theories that Tony Stark would be behind both The Vision and Ultron, and/or that Ultron may be a corrupted version of J.A.R.V.I.S.In the comics, The Vision was first introduced to The Avengers as a tool of Ultron before he became a hero instead, ultimately taking on the consciousness of the then-dead Wonder Man and becoming romantically entangled with the Scarlet Witch, who will be played by Elizabeth Olsen in the upcoming star-studded sequel. This is still not confirmed by Marvel, and the article makes that much–as well as the fact that representatives for the production, codenamed After Party, would not even speak to the Mail–clear. The same rumor started circulating briefly about a year ago, but at that point most fans were still convinced that Vision would be played by–depending on when you asked–Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s Clark Gregg or Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Vin Diesel.
