Frozen is headed to Broadway, and a brand new photo shows Disney is intent on recreating the snowy landscape on the stage.
Actor John Riddle plays the villainous Hans in the stage recreation of Frozen, but he decided to do something nice and share a first glimpse of the set. The picture reveals a bridge covered in icicles and a bluish silver sheen on the ground. Hans stands at the other end of it in full costume, and honestly, it all looks stunning (via SlashFilm).
He shared the photo with the caption "Disney on ice. @frozenbroadway #frozen #hans #winteriscoming ❄️ Glorious clothes and scenery by @christopheroram. 📸: @marcsbrenner."
Despite the similar setting, Frozen will undergo a few changes from film to stage. That includes the number of songs, which has increased from 8 to 31. The project includes the talents of songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, with Michael Grandage directing.
Frozen will hit Broadway officially in February of 2018, and fans of the franchise have even more to celebrate as the much-anticipated sequel will debut the following year.
Fans can get something to tide them over though later this year, with Olaf's Frozen Adventure short, which will debut in front of Pixar's Coco. The short will feature Olaf and Sven as they journey all over the world trying to compile the best Christmas traditions, and just as delightful as you'd expect.
"I'm thrilled that Disney Animation's featurette 'Olaf's Frozen Adventure' will be coming to theaters in November with Pixar's 'Coco,'" said John Lasseter, chief creative officer, Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios. "It's a perfect pairing – they're both beautiful, heartfelt films about families and how people carry traditions forward. I can't wait for audiences to get to see both of these terrific projects together on the big screen."
Frozen holds a 74.35 on ComicBook.com's composite ranking, and you can submit your vote here. You can find the official description below.
