With all of the summer blockbusters on the way – Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, Wonder Woman, Pirates of The Caribbean 5, just to name a few – it’s easy to forget that September could easily house one of the year’s biggest hits. Kingsman: The Golden Circle is looking to compound on the success of its predecessor, which fans seriously loved.

Matthew Vaughn is returning to direct the new film – the first time he’s ever made a sequel – so that’s a good sign from the jump. When you factor in the return of the first film’s stars, combined with heavy-hitters that include Jeff Bridges and Channing Tatum, you’re well on your way to smashing it out of the park with round two.
With all this in mind, the hype train for The Golden Circle is very real. However, some new details have been getting people more excited than ever.
Empire Online debuted two new photos from the film this morning (which you can find in the gallery), along with the very first details regarding the new characters. These new details offer the first description of the American version of the Kingsmen – the Statesmen – as well as the new additions played by Tatum, Bridges, and others.
The Statesmen are a rowdy bunch, much different than the clean-cut and proper way of the Kingsmen. Rather than hiding out in a white mansion, that can be accessed via a tailor’s shop, the Statesmen have made their home in a giant whiskey distillery in the heart of Kentucky. This alcohol-related base of operations has led to all of the American agents having nicknames that fit their surroundings.
Jeff Bridges stars as the leader of the organization, Agent Champagne (most just refer to him as Champ). Then you’ve got Halle Berry as Ginger, the tech guru, and Pedro Pascal as Agent Jack, the agent who works closely with Eggsy. Julianne Moore plays the film’s villain Poppy, a megalomaniac who Vaughn describes as “America’s sweetheart gone wrong”.
Channing Tatum rounds out the American cast, portraying Agent Tequila. His character is a wild and cocky cowboy of a spy, and this is the new addition that people seem most excited for.

In perhaps one of the best quotes of all time, Matthew Vaughn teases what people can expect from the new movie. “We’ve got all this fun Americana and we’re combining it with the Englishness.”
Yes, you’re right. That does sound incredibly awesome. Please Matthew Vaughn, just take our money already.

Kingsman: The Secret Service introduced the world to Kingsman – an independent, international intelligence agency operating at the highest level of discretion, whose ultimate goal is to keep the world safe. In Kingsman: The Golden Circle, our heroes face a new challenge. When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US called Statesman, dating back to the day they were both founded. In a new adventure that tests their agents’ strength and wits to the limit, these two elite secret organizations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy…
The film is being directed by Matthew Vaughn. The script was co-written by Vaughn and Jane Goldman, based on the “The Secret Service” comic book created by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. It is produced by Vaughn, David Reid, and Adam Bohling.
The cast features Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Halle Berry, Sir Elton John, Channing Tatum, and Jeff Bridges.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle arrives in theaters on September 29, 2017.
