We’re still about a year away from Pacific Rim: Uprising, but we’re trying to learn all we can about the John Boyega-led sequel to the classic Kaiju-fighting flick.
Details about the film’s plot have been pretty well kept despite the teases hitting social media courtesy of Boyega and director Steven S. DeKnight, but now we have a better look at the new Jaeger in the film.

The reveal comes courtesy of a figure with some matching blueprints that give a great look at the schematics and feature of the new Jaeger.
Called Gipsy Avenger, it looks to be like an updated take on the Gipsy Danger that was piloted by Diego Klattenhoff and Charlie Hunnam’s characters in the first film.
The Mark-IV Jaeger sports dual vortex turbines and some updated armory, including new versions of the chain sword and elbow rockets. It will also have flight capabilities, as the schematics say it has an airborne launch system.
Its a cool update to the original iconic Jaeger and appears to employ some beefed-up weapons systems to take on the new batch of giant monsters. We don’t know if this one will be co-piloted by Boyega’s character Pentecost, but we’re excited to see it in action when Pacific Rim: Uprising finally hits theaters.
