While Capcom hasn't been thrilled with the reception to Street Fighter V, they are loading up another of their famous franchises for a big push according to IGN.

In their latest investors presentation (via Chobel from NeoGAF), the company stated: "In the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017, the Company is scheduled to release [...] Resident Evil Umbrella Corps (for PlayStation 4 and PC) of the Resident Evil series, which marked its 20th anniversary in March 2016, as warm up to the full-scale offensive planned for the second half of the year."

The company also has a Resident Evil 2 Remake in the works as well, and the final Resident Evil film, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, will launch on January 27th, 2017. This would be the perfect time to launch a new game in the core franchise. After the mixed reception of Resident Evil 6, Capcom has been all about drawing from the past history of the series with remakes of the original Resident Evil, Resident Evil 0, and the upcoming RE2. Hopefully, some of that will influence whatever Resident Evil 7 turns out to be.
