Among the stars on the red carpet for Ant-Man's World Premiere in Hollywood on Monday was Talking Dead and @midnight host, Chris Hardwick.

Hardwick stopped to chat with ComicBook.com about Ant-Man, some Marvel hero hypotheticals, the upcoming season of The Walking Dead, and a few too many laughs. Join us in the video below.

Hardwick told us he's particularly excited for Ant-Man because of the precedent it sets in the comic book fan community. "If you understand what's happening in our little subculture, it's one that we've been waiting for for a long time and I think one that not until a few years ago people even thought, 'Oh, this could be a movie.'" Hardwick makes a valid point. Before Iron Man launched the Marvel brand in 2008, comic book movies were a much more rare commodity. At the time, the X-Men franchise and Nolan's Dark Knight saga were the hot items in comic book movies, but here we are in 2015 getting to watch Ant-Man shrink on the big screen. "I'm just excited to actually get to see it," Hardwick added.

The conversation quickly journeyed into Walking Dead territory. The professional Walking Dead recap host dove into an analysis of which Marvel hero would be the best suited for a zombie apocalypse and drew from his Marvel Zombies knowledge to help his argument. "I can't figure out, as Wolverine, would your healing powers cure you of whatever the virus is or would you just be an unbeatable zombie?" Hardwick debated, concluding "I feel like Wolverine would just be the best because the claws... He has six Michonnes at his side."

Speaking of Michonne, what does Hardwick know about The Walking Dead's upcoming season? Not much. Not because the production team won't tell him but "I won't let them tell me!" Hardwick claims. "First of all, my show is live. So, if I know what's coming up... And I read the comics, too, and sometimes, the universes... You're like, 'Wait, did that? Did they?' So, if I blurt something out by accident people are going to be very upset and I'll lose my job! But also, I think it's nice that when I say, 'I don't know what's coming up,' I really don't know what's coming up." On top of that, being a true Walking Dead fan, he does enjoy watching the show without anything being spoiled in advance. "I like to anticipate and take the journey," he said.

As for favorite characters, Hardwick couldn't pick just one. He does, however, feel strongly that Melissa McBride deserves an Emmy nomination for her performance as Carol Peletier. "If she doesn't get nominated for an Emmy, there is no justice in this entertainment universe," Hardwick says.

Ant-Man hits theaters July 17!
