Iron Man in Guardians of the Galaxy movie

In their latest Marvel NOW! videoblog, embedded below, MTV Geek cornered Steve Wacker and Brian Michael Bendis to talk about their just-launched Guardians of the Galaxy movie--and they went straight for the movie. "Tonally, [writer Brian Michael Bendis] is making sure that our book fits into the world of the movie the way our Avengers books fit into the Avengers movie," Wacker said. "We see all the outlines and all the drafts of the scripts that come in and all the drafts of the movie as it's being edited," Bendis explained of his role on the Marvel Creative Committee, colloquially known as the movie brain trust. "Guardians has been in development secretly for a while, so when I was offered the book I was like 'there's a lot of opportunity here for me to express some of these ideas that I was expressing in the meetings." He added that while there will be tonal similarities, fans shouldn't read too much about the movie into his comics. "My take and the movie I think are going to be very different things, obviously, but thematically I think you're going to see some similarities because the book birthed out of these conversations."
