Ralph Garman, host of The Joe Schmo Show, guest-hosted on Kevin Smith's Fat Man on Batman podcast this week, discussing the recent release of Man of Steel--and he hated the film. A lot. If you've been involved with any conversations about Man of Steel in the last few days, you know that they tend to get ugly quickly; here at ComicBook.com, our comments threads are full of fans feuding over the film and, frankly, taking way too many cheap shots at one another.

Seriously? Because the guy liked a movie you didn't, or vice versa? I don't get it... The venom and vitriol on display around this film is baffling. I can't say something positive on Facebook without being attacked, and then having those who attacked me immediately attacked by others. It's like throwing a piece of meat to a pen of hungry hyenas, and it's strange and terrifying. Garman picks up that proud tradition in Fat Man on Batman, chipping in with snide comments during Smith's introduction and then ranting angrily whenever he talks during the show. It's a fascinating car wreck, watching an Internet comments section come to life, although Smith doesn't take the bait, either to his credit or, more likely, because he knows how it would play if he did. "They knocked it out of the park with this one," Smith says in his introduction, but Garman is going on about "hobo Superman" and making Sucker Punch jokes before the discussion even really gets into the discussion. It's worth checking out, whether you liked the movie or not, but it's a little frustrating just listening to the anger and bile of the comments thread come to life.
