, the upcoming Image Comics series from Mark Millar and Duncan Fegredo, has had its film rights optioned, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film rights for MPH were optioned by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who has been a producer on the Transformers and G.I. Joe films. "(Lorenzo's) one of the few real moguls in the industry, having hired Chris Nolan for Batman and bought the rights to the Harry Potter books when he was head of Warner Bros. and then of course he's the guy behind the Transformers movies," says Millar. "So he's a guy who really knows how to make huge pictures and he's somebody I've always wanted to work with on one of the bigger Millarworld adaptations." The news comes on the heels of last week's news that Millar's collaboration with Leinil Yu, Superior, had a film adaptation in the works. MPH is a five-issue miniseries set in Millar's Millarworld universe. The series follows a group of teenagers in Detroit who come upon a drug called MPH. The drug gives them super-speed, and, rather than becoming superheroes, the teens decide to use their new power to line their own pockets. MPH #1 is solicited for release on May 21.
