There's no denying that Robert Downey Jr. is one of the greatest turnaround success stories that Hollywood has ever seen. The story or how Downey Jr. relaunched his career with Iron Man and helped make Marvel Studios what it is today could very well become a movie of its own one day in the future.

In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Robert Downey Jr. talks briefly about what Marvel has meant to him and what he has meant to Marvel. On the material side, Marvel has meant a lot of new cars. Downey Jr.'s home in Malibu has an extensive car collection, including a Bentley given to him in lieu of back-end payment for Iron Man 3. Downey Jr. also points to having a lovely relationship with Audi since the first Iron Man.

Besides dramatically improving his car collection,Downey Jr. also summed up very eloquently his relationship with Marvel.

Downey Jr. said, "I've gone from being convinced that I am the sole integer in the approbation of a phenomenon to realizing that I was the lead in the first of a series of movies that created a chain reaction that, if everything didn't fire the way it was supposed to, there's no operator, no anything. And you go, O.K., life is doing something here that included me but did not require me. But, yes, that role means a lot. Marvel is kind of like this sacred brotherhood."
