Star Wars Rebels Trailer To Debut On Star Wars Day

Disney XD and Lucasfilm are celebrating this year's "Star Wars Day," May 4, by releasing the first trailer for Star Wars Rebels, the new animated Star Wars television series. In the United States, Disney XD will show the Star Wars Rebels trailer during the premiere of LEGO's Star Wars: The New Yoda Chronicles at 7:00 p.m., ET/PT. The trailer will also air on Disney Channel, ABC, ABC Family, Fusion, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN3 at varying times throughout the day. The Star Wars Rebels trailer will also debut on Disney XD and Disney Channels in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, Latin America and Australia -- reaching about 105 million households in over 50 countries. A exclusive 30-second sneak peak of the Star Wars Rebels trailer will air on ABC's Good Morning America on Friday, May 2. In Star Wars Rebels, it is a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its grip of power from world to world.  As the series begins, Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people.  The clever and motley crew of the starship Ghost is amongst a select few who are brave enough to stand against the Empire. Together, this ragtag group will face threatening new villains, encounter colorful adversaries, embark on thrilling adventures and become heroes with the power to ignite a rebellion. Star Wars Rebels takes place between Episode III and Episode IV of the Star Wars Saga. The series will tell the story of how the Rebel Alliance, first introduced in Episode IV, originally formed. It is also the first new addition into official Star Wars lore since Disney and Lucasfilm officially reset Star Wars canon. Star Wars Rebels will debut on Disney XD in this fall.
