The LEGO Movie's Everything Is Awesome Gets Metal Cover

Leo Moracchioli, a Norwegian rocker who is known for his metal and acoustic covers of popular songs, has updated his YouTube channel, Frog Leap Studios, with a metal version of "Everything Is Awesome," the Oscar-nominated song featured in 2014's The Lego Movie.

The song was written by Shawn Patterson, Joshua Bartholomew, Lisa Harriton, and The Lonely Island, performed by Tegan and Sara in collaboration with musical comedy trio The Lonely Island, and has sold over 400k copies.

The original 3D computer animated story follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

The LEGO Movie was directed Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (21 Jump Street, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs). The screenplay was written by Lord and Miller, based on a story they fleshed out with Dan and Kevin Hageman. It was produced by Dan Lin and Roy Lee. Executive producers are Jill Wilfert, Matthew Ashton, Kathleen Fleming, Allison Abbate, Zareh Nalbandian, Jon Burton, Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Seanne Winslow, Matt Skiena and Bruce Berman; and co-producer is John Powers Middleton.

The LEGO Movie 2 will be released on February 2, 2019.
