Who is the one character that no one expects to die on The Walking Dead? It's Daryl Dixon of course. Norman Reedus' character has become such a fan favorite that viewers would likely revolt if the show ever dared to kill him off. However, as unlikely as it may sound, there is a chance that Daryl Dixon could get killed off in the season three finale of The Walking Dead. Here are five reasons why. 5. New Crossbow Was Introduced Early – In a behind the scenes video, the Walking Dead prop master talked about how the original plan was to give Daryl a new crossbow next season, but they decided to go ahead and give it to him this season. We initially took this as an indication that Daryl was safe since it confirmed his character had been written into next season. However, a reader pointed out that it could mean they changed the scrip to kill off Daryl in season three so they wanted to let him have some time with a new crossbow before the end. 4. Original Plan Was To Have Governor Threaten To Kill Daryl In Front Of Merle – In the fight between The Governor and Merle, director Greg Nicotero revealed the original cut had The Governor threatening to kill Daryl in front of Merle. However, that part of the scene was cut out. Could producers have decided to cut it because they didn't want to tip their hand that The Governor would be killing Daryl? 3. Merle Predicted It – While telling Hershel about The Governor, Merle predicted that The Governor would kill him first, followed by Michonne, followed by Daryl. It turns out that Merle was right and accurately predicted that he would be the first killed. Could Merle be right that Michonne and Daryl are next to go? 2. Norman Reedus Is On The Talking Dead – Norman Reedus is scheduled to appear on the Talking Dead episode after The Walking Dead season three finale. Often but not always, when someone appears on the Talking Dead, it's an indication that their character has just been killed off. 1. It's the Most Shocking Thing Producers Could Do – If Walking Dead producers truly want to prove their statements that no one is safe, then eventually they have to kill Daryl, because everyone believes he is safe.
