The Wolverine Behind The Scenes Photo Shows Claws Meeting Blades

Hugh Jackman has been playing Wolverine for thirteen years, but he's never looked in better shape than he does in the photos for The Wolverine. Director James Mangold has released another behind the scenes photo, which shows a shirtless Hugh Jackman putting claws to blades. Along with the photo, Mangold tweeted, "Hiro Sanada and HJ rehearse clash of claws and blades. Hiro is a truly great actor, martial artist and friend." Mangold tweeted three other behind the scenes photos from The Wolverine earlier this week. Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before. The Wolverine is scheduled to be released in movie theaters in the United States on July 26, 2013.
