Criminal Minds star Thomas Gibson is under lockdown for one or two episodes after what sounds like a bit of method acting. The actor reportedly got into a fight with a producer that included him kicking his boss. Only in Hollywood can you literally kick your boss and just get a week or two suspension.

The actor was meant to direct another episode this season, having directed two last season and four before that in previous seasons, and will no longer be directing this season, the 12th for both the show and the star. Gibson has played the lead FBI Special Agent, Aaron Hotchner, for the show’s entire run, his first regular series after the sitcom Dharma and Greg ended.

Comic book fans will recognize Gibson’s voice if not his face – he voiced Deathstroke, the deadly DC Comics assassin in the animated film Son of Batman, which introduced the newest Robin, Damian Wayne (son of Bruce, hence the title). Deathstroke is known for his hot temper and his martial arts acumen, with a propensity for kicking. Hmm, method acting indeed…

Criminal Minds season 12 kicks off September 28, 2016. Gibson’s suspension will most likely be served during the third and fourth, or fourth and fifth episodes of the season.
