Will Smith Confirmed To Be involved In Bad Boys Revival

Will Smith's involvement with the upcoming Bad Boys revival has been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter.

When Adam Sandler's Pixels is your high-grossing film ($131.3M) of the year, so far, your studio is bad shape. Sony can thank former studio head Amy Pascal for the weak slate of films they put out. Now that Tom Rothman is in charge, he is aggressively trying to rejuvenate several of Sonys older properties, like Bad Boys, which received released dates for two future installments -- February 17, 2017 and July 3, 2019.

"The dated films reflect the hard work of any people inside and outside of the company but are just the start of making Sony a consistent volume supplier of quality product for diverse audiences worldwide," Rothman told THR.

THR added the confirmation: "Will Smith will be involved in the revival of Bad Boys," however, "it's not clear whether he will star, produce or both, insiders say."
