Disney CEO Robert Iger has released a statement expressing condolences to the family of a toddler killed in an alligator attack this week at a Disney hotel.

A two-year-old boy who went missing at the Disney Grand Floridian Resort and Spa after being pulled underwater by an alligator was found around 4 p.m. ET today after having been missing for nearly a full day.

The toddler was missing for 15 hours when Orange County Sherriff Jerry Demings announced that the effort had gone from a rescue to recovery effort. It was a few hours later that the boy's body was found.

"As a parent and a grandparent, my heart goes out to the Graves family during this time of devastating loss. My thoughts and prayers are with them, and I know everyone at Disney joins me in offering our deepest sympathies," Iger said in a statement.

The Graves Family were visiting the resort from Nebraska with their three children.

At the time of the attack, the family was reportedly relaxing on the shoreline. An alligator snatched the boy while he was wading in the lagoon at the Disney Grand Florida Resort and Spa. The boy's father attempted to save him from the gator but was unsuccessful. The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. ET yesterday.

The authorities used boats, sonar, and helicopters in their search for the boy in addition to Disney's wildlife crew doing their best to aid in the situation.

More than 50 officials were searching for the boy, and Florida Governor Rick Scott offered his services in the search.
