Is Lord Zedd Coming to the Power Rangers Movies?
Warning! MAJOR SPOILERS Follow! Power Rangers is now in theaters, and making a respectable buck [...]
Who is Zedd?

If you're not a longtime Power Rangers fan, then hearing the name "Lord Zedd" is going to be more confusing, than anything. So allow us to fill you in:
Lord Zedd was the first villain created for the American version of the Power Rangers; he was a skinless muscular warrior with a chrome mask and chrome armor highlights. He was a flat character: evil beyond all debate and totally arch about it. Zedd was the self-styled "Empreor of Evil," and was the big boss of villains like sorceress Rita Repulsa and her henchman, Goldar. Zedd's skinless appearance came from trying to take the Zeo Crystal for himself, and being burned by its evil-fighting powers.
Zedd was a much more dangerous foe than Rita, nearly killing the Power Rangers or taking possession of their powers and vehicles, time and again. He lasted as a major villain from Mighty Morphin up through Power Rangers Zeo, and has since become as iconic as Rita herself.
With such a major franchise villain waiting the wings, it seems inevitable that Zedd will join the Power Rangers movie universe - the only question is: how will he fit into this new continuity?

FINAL WARNING: This Page Contains Massive Power Rangers SPOILERS!!!!
The final act of Power Rangers saw Rita Repulsa literally backslapped into space by the new team's Megazord. In the cold abyss of space, we see Rita's body covered in an icy, crystalline pod that suggested she's in some kind of stasis. At the very least, she seemed much less dead than she did at the beginning of the film - and if she could survive mummified state...
It's not hard to see a scenario in which Zedd - an ancient evil lurking out in space - comes across Rita in her frozen stasis, and frees her. Zedd and Rita could ultimately have an uneasy and volatile relationship; they bumped heads often, and even had a potion-induced romantic partnership in the original show. Either way, the two villains uniting in the Power Rangers movie sequel (and possibly bringing the Green/White Ranger saga along with them) would be more than enough to get fan hype going strong!
