In December of 2016, Star Wars icon Carrie Fisher passed away. The following day, her mother Debbie Reynolds – another industry star – died as well.
Those days were some of the saddest in recent memory, and the Golden Globes took a minute to pay tribute to these wonderful women, and the lives which they led.
The video only lasts 45 seconds, but it says everything you would ever need to know about Carrie and Debbie. The two women were warm souls, creative minds, and they loved each other dearly.
While she was known for her role as Leia Organa in the Star Wars franchise, Carrie Fisher was also a celebrated writer, as she treated many successful scripts from all different genres.
Debbie Reynolds was a highly-celebrated actress, and she was best known for her role in Singin’ In The Rain.
Meryl Streep also honored Carrie Fisher during her acceptance speech, and she shared one of Carrie’s most touching and inspirational quotes:
“Take your broken heart, make it into art.”
We continue to love and miss you Debbie and Carrie.
