Based on previously released images and the first teaser for The Last Jedi, Luke Skywalker has head down a darker path since we last saw him. A new card released by Topps' Star Wars Card Trader might have just released an image of the Jedi in clothes that honor his father Anakin, as pointed out by Making Star Wars.
The above costume is the third look we've seen of Skywalker, with the first being an outfit similar to what we saw at the end of The Force Awakens while another appears to be a dark ensemble that protects him from the elements.
In Return of the Jedi, Skywalker wore black clothing, which means embracing darker tones is nothing new for the Jedi master. The above look, however, appears incredibly similar to Anakin Skywalker's outfit from Revenge of the Sith, when he cast aside the Jedi to fully embrace his role as a Sith.
It's unclear what could have motivated this change in wardrobe for Luke, as he never knew his father as Anakin and therefore probably wouldn't have known what he wore before becoming Darth Vader. However, the looks are far too similar to be chalked up to merely being a coincidence, so it's also possible that embracing an outfit similar to the one above is something Jedi regularly do when questioning their allegiances.
Based on comments made last month, it's possible Luke's attempts to train Kylo Ren have resulted in a falling out with the Force.
“[Luke] made a huge mistake in thinking that his nephew was the chosen one, so he invested everything he had in
We'll find out more about Luke when The Last Jedi opens on December 15.
