This is most definitely the editing suite Rian Johnson has been looking for - surely no Jedi mind trick could alter that. With shooting on Star Wars Episode VIII having wrapped back in July, the director has now started editing the project's theatrical cut. And, as you can see, the guy's workspace set-up is something to be jealous over.

Well, you know, it would be if jealousy and such didn't lead us straight to the dark side.

Day one!

Rian Johnson recently uploaded a photo of himself to Instagram, telling fans it was his first day editing Star Wars Episode VIII. In the picture, fans can only see the director's backside as he sits in what must be a very cushy chair. Several monitors are situated in front of Rian, and fans can see the words "Picture Start" displayed on their screens. People have been inundating the director with comments, wishing Rian well as he makes the undoubtedly grueling decision to either cut scenes or draw them out.

Produced by Lucasfilm, Star Wars Episode VIII will be the tenth Star Wars film to-date. It will immediately follow the most recent installment Star Wars: The Force Awakens which has become the highest-grossing domestic film of all time. So, to say Episode VIII has a lot to live up to would be somewhat of an understatement. However, Rian Johnson has got fans on his side since it appears as if he's confident in the film's cast and crew.

As of today, fans know very little about Star Wars VIII as Disney and Lucasfilm have been busy marketing Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. However, we do know the cast of The Force Awakens is returning alongside several new cast members such as Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran. And, of course, famed composer John Williams would be returning to score the upcoming film.

Having been pushed back once already, Star Wars: Episode VIII is slated to warp into theaters on December 15th 2017.
