Luke Skywalker could be headed towards a dark path in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but that apparently won’t involve eating a certain cuddly creature.

The tie-in book Star Wars Made Easy recently provided some disturbing information about Luke’s co-inhabitants on Ahch-To, including the adorable porgs. In a section called “Luke’s Island Highlights”, the porgs were described as “Cute? Definitely. Tasty? Maybe…”
While this sent fans into a bit of an uproar, Mark Hamill is here to set the record straight. In a recent tweet, Hamill argued that Luke has never eaten a Porg, and has been a vegetarian prior to the events of the original trilogy. You can check out the tweet below.
Please be advised: #Porgs are not on any #AhchToMenu-Luke hasn’t been a meat-eater since Aunt Beru made that nice #WompRatBrisket back home. pic.twitter.com/KYBHECaRJ2

This is sure to be welcomed news to some Star Wars fans, who might find the idea of the franchise’s hero snacking on porgs a little upsetting.
But before you breathe a sigh of relief, The Last Jedi‘s various promotional material does hint that other characters might still eat porgs. A coloring book page showed Ahch-To’s caretakers luring – and possibly trapping – a group of porgs, while The Last Jedi‘s behind-the-scenes video subtly included Chewbacca with a feather sticking out of his mouth.
Fans will get to see these adorable porgs, and possibly find out who snacks on them, when Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres in theaters December 15.
