Jeffrey Dean Morgan has only been featured on The Walking Dead for about 10 minutes. Still, he is the show's biggest star right now.

At San Diego Comic Con, The Walking Dead took over Hall H. All 11 cast members who play the characters left in season six as candidates for Negan's victim marched onto the stage followed by an in character Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Lucille and all. His arrival was met with both cheers and friendly boos.

After the panel, Morgan joined select members of the press to talk about the upcoming episodes and his experiences as Negan, so far.

"I think right now, this Comic Con is going to be okay," Morgan says of The Walking Dead fans. "I think next year is gonna be a little different. I think next year it's gonna be a salute of middle fingers and language when I come out onto the stage. Right now, being with these guys, it's a hard deal. With the show, what they've gone through is awful."

The fans aren't the only ones who have accepted Jeffrey Dean Morgan as a part of the cast.

"I feel like I've been embraced by the cast and I sure do embrace them," Morgan explains. "It's gonna be hard. It's gonna be hard until it's not anymore and I don't know when that's gonna be."

The Walking Dead will return for its seventh season October 23 at 9 PM ET on AMC. For complete coverage, insider info, and more all season long, be sure to follow me on Twitter @BrandonDavisBD and check out The Walking Dead on ComicBook.com on Facebook.
