The Saviors have brought their first act of violence upon the Kingdom as Richard’s plan in Episode 7×13 backfired and Jared elected to shoot Benjamin rather then him when the drop was one cantaloupe short.
The Kingdom’s leader and its soldiers raced to Carol’s house in an effort to tend to Benjamin’s quickly bleeding wound. As the life faded from Benjamin, he looked to Morgan with a few last words.
“It’s okay. It’s okay,” Benjamin said. “To injure your opponent is to injure yourself.”
The words were said by Benjamin earlier in the episode, when he delivered a piece of art to Morgan at the Kingdom. They are an aikedo cree.
To apply a deeper meaning, the Saviors have injured their opponent in the Kingdom. They have, in turn, injured themselves by making an enemy. The Kingdom is now more likely to align itself with Rick’s army in their upcoming war against Negan.

Benjamin is encouraging Morgan to do just that in his parting words. So, what does that mean for Mr. Jones?
The biggest possible change for Morgan is that he will begin killing left and right. He has preserved the opinion of “all life is precious” thus far but was beginning to see Benjamin as a son. In his mentoring of the young Kingdom soldier, the void left behind by his late son Duane was only made wider when Benjamin bled to death in Carol’s house.
