Few television shows have rabid fanbases comparable to HBO’s Game of Thrones, with legions dedicated to finding out any and all details they can regarding the series. With so many theories, set leaks, and fan videos trickling online during the course of a season, a lot of storylines get spoiled before a season even airs.

The actor behind Jamie Lannister, one of the biggest players in Westeros, said he’s surprised that many of the rumors and theories leaked online are actually true.
While speaking with Huffington Post’s Build Series, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau admitted that he’s gotten worried that fans have spoiled entire seasons before the show even airs:
What’s interesting, though, is every year there are huge spoilers online where people find out real stuff and they will post it, and you go, “Oh my God, they just spoiled the whole season online!” But then, because there’s 10,000 other spoilers out there, they’re not real. It just gets lost in the shuffleโฆ So, it’s all out there by the way … if you can find it.
As the show enters its penultimate season, it is now documenting uncharted territory with regards to George RR Martin‘s source material. The author is hard at work on the sixth book in the series of A Song of Ice and Fire, the Winds of Winter, which was the focus of last year’s season.

And now showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss are far ahead of Martin’s novels, as the author is notoriously slow in publishing completed novels in the beloved fantasy series.
Because of this, determining which leaks and rumors are accurate has become even more difficult considering there is no source material to serve as a guidepost, it’s all just speculation until it airs.
So while Coster-Waldau admitted that there’s a certain grain of truth out there among all the rumors, it’s all just a game of wagers until the season airs and reveals what is actually accurate.
For now, we can only wait until the show returns this summer and find out if we’ll finally get to see if certain reports are true.
Game of Thrones returns to HBO for its seventh season on July 16, 2017.
