Marvel's The Inhumans is finally on the way, but ABC isn't giving it the time slot that you'd expect. The network has placed Marvel's newest series at 9 pm ET on Friday nights.
Fridays used to be the night designated for older audiences, or shows that a network was expecting to cancel. However, after the success of shows like Grimm and McGyver, it's not exactly a bad place to be anymore.
Still, the Friday assignment doesn't invoke a ton of confidence. The Gifted, Marvel's X-Men series at Fox, was given the highly-coveted 9 pm Monday space.
The silver-lining here is that The Inhumans is only supposed to be eight episodes. With a short season planned, people will be willing to tune in on a Friday night, especially considering Once Upon A Time will serve as a lead-in.
Although Agents of SHIELD was renewed for another season, it's missing from the schedule entirely. This leads us to believe that the series will get a midseason premiere, or take the place of Inhumans following its eight-episode run.

Marvel's Inhumans stars Anson Mount (Black Bolt), Serinda Swan (Medusa), Ken Leung (Karnak), Isabelle Cornish (Crystal), Eme Ikwuakor (Gorgon), Iwan Rheon (Maximus), Sonya Balmores (Auran), Mike Moh (Triton), and Ellen Woglom).
Marvel's Inhumans will premiere the first two episodes in IMAX on September 1. The full series will debut on ABC later this fall.
