Opposites Attract
Season 2 Episode 20: Opposites Attract
Talk about having your work thrown in your face.
When Billy creates a weather polarizer to help detect significant storms, Lord Zedd sees an opportunity to take it for himself. He manages to obtain it and turn it into a monster, but the initial recovery mission doesn't all go as planned.
Zedd sends a host of Putties and Goldar to steal it from Billy, who is by himself in the park. Billy manages to dispatch the Putties without morphing and even takes down Goldar with a devastating flying kick.
It was easily one of Billy's best moments, showing what he can do without his weapons or allies.
You can find the official episode description below.
Lord Zedd plans to steal Billy's magnetic polarizing gauge and wreak havoc with Earth's gravitational pull.
Green With Evil Part 2
Season 1 Episode 17 - 21: Green With Evil Part 2
Sometimes you need intelligence over brawn. Other times, you need both in equal measure.
When Tommy destroys the command center from within, it's the Blue Ranger's RADBUG that gets them there with the teleporters down. Once there they find their headquarters wrecked and Zordon gone. They also find a severely buggy Alpha 5 wandering inside, and it's Billy's intellect that manages to start turning the tide.
Billy is able to wipe the virus that Tommy installed and get Alpha 5 to a workable state. Granted, his memory is a mess, but at least he wasn't going to explode.
You can find the official episode description below.
The Power Rangers work to restore Zordon and Alpha, unaware that the new kid in school is actually Rita's evil Green Ranger.
Doomsday
Season 1 Episode 40: Doomsday
The high IQ of the Blue Ranger sure came in handy throughout season 1 of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and often surfaces when the Rangers are at their weakest.
After a lengthy and destructive battle with Rita's Cyclopsis, the Rangers aren't fully able to destroy him. With their Zords in need of recharging, Rita hits them even harder, reforming the monster and taking down all of their Zords, including Titanus.
With no Zords they find themselves stranded in Angel Grove, unable to use their communicators. Billy attempts to fix them but Rita sends Goldar and an army of Putties to hit the Rangers in their weakened state. With Rita's forces closing in, Billy still manages to fix their communicators and teleports them to the command center before they can muster an attack.
Never say the Blue Ranger doesn't keep his cool under pressure.
You can find the official episode description below.
The Power Rangers fight to rescue the citizens of Angel Grove from Rita, Lokar and Cyclopsis.
The Great Bookala Escape
Season 2 Episode 36: The Great Bookala Escape
Billy Cranston is a kind and compassionate guy. Well, unless you hurt someone he cares about. At that point, the Blue Ranger becomes a death-dealing machine.
The Power Rangers are introduced to a friendly alien named Bookala, who crash lands in a spaceship as he's being pursued by Lord Zedd's army. The Rangers attempt to help Bookala fix his ship, and over the course of the episode they take quite a liking to the little guy.
To stop them Zedd creates a monster from Billy's welding machine, named aptly Weldo. Weldo manages to hit Bookala, causing Billy to go into a rage. Billy annihilates him with his blade blaster as a result and the monster didn't even finish the episode.
You can find the official episode description below.
The Rangers try to help Bookala, a friendly alien, return to his planet.
