WWE Hall of Famer Shocks the World at AEW All Out (And 3 Dream Matches We Want to See)

AEW’s anticipated All Out pay-per-view is now underway, and it wasted no time in getting things started with a bang. One of the more anticipated matches was the next chapter in the reunion of Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, who were taking on former friends and now bitter rivals FTR. The match was thrilling throughout, but absolutely no one expected that a WWE Hall of Famer would make their debut during the match, and we already have 3 dream matches we cannot wait to see.

During the match, FTR’s manager, Stokely Hathaway, was causing issues at ringside, but he soon found that to be a mistake. That’s because right at that moment, new music hit with the name Beth on the screen. The crowd started to rock when they all realized that this was indeed WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix, though the newest AEW star is now going by Beth Copeland.

Beth hit the ramp running and speared Stokely, leaving him out cold before putting him on her shoulders and walking him away from the ring. Beth would return later to celebrate the hard-fought win with Cope and Cage, though the good times wouldn’t last long.

FTR would hit the ring and knock out Cage while also handcuffing Cope to the ropes. Beth didn’t blink, kissing her husband before turning around and attacking FTR. Unfortunately, the numbers advantage was too much to overcome, but FTR went above and beyond when they made Cope watch as they hit Beth with a Spike Piledriver. This feud is far from over, and now the stakes have been raised considerably.

3 Dream Matches

Now that Beth Copeland seems to officially be part of AEW, the dream scenarios have begun in earnest. There are a multitude of match-ups with huge potential, and there are several women on the roster who could prove real challenges in terms of their power game and skillset. There are way more than 3 to be honest, but there are 3 opponents that immediately come to mind, and they are all fan favorites.

3. Jamie Hayter

Jamie Hayter recently returned from injury, and it’s wonderful to see her already in the main event mix at All Out. That said, there aren’t too many times when you get a Hall of Famer joining the roster, so even if Hayter wins the AEW World Women’s Championship, it would be great to see her have a feud against someone who can match her fiery nature and power game, and both of those elements also apply to our next pick.

2. Willow Nightingale

Next up is the human ray of sunshine known as Willow Nightingale, and while that sunny disposition is a calling card, we’ve also seen time and time again that she can tap into a different side when the situation arises. Nightingale has showcased this throughout her time in AEW, including that amazing street fight with Kris Statlander, so who wouldn’t want to see what she can do with Beth Copeland in an AEW ring?

This might be a case of doing a tag team first and then moving into a one-on-one match down the line, though it could just be a one-off match as well. A story would have to be created there since both are babyfaced, which is also true of a matcha against Hayter, but that shouldn’t be all that hard to make happen with the talents involved.

1. Kris Statlander

Kris Statlander is also part of that World Women’s Title battle and has always been a powerhouse in the ring. That makes her a prime opponent for Beth, bringing that opposing force meets an immovable object phase to life in the ring. Statlander might be the best choice for Beth moving forward though, as Statlander has had more interactions with the Death Ryders lately, and that could be a great way to bring Cope and Christian into the feud as well.

Whether Statlander stays a babyface that just takes advice from Moxley and company here and there or goes fully heel and aligns with the group, there’s a lot to work with there in terms of story. As far as a match, Statlander has impressed against everyone she’s battled, regardless of size or style, and I have no doubt it would be the same with Beth Copeland.
