Spider-Man is coming home! It was such joyous news late last night and this morning Hugh Jackman ("X-Men: Days Of Future Past") was informed of the news while he was doing press for his upcoming film Chappie. "I think that is really exciting news," Hugh Jackman excitedly told Screen Crush.

In past interviews, Jackman has championed a team-up between 20th Century Fox and Marvel, like the one Marvel just struck with Sony Pictures, however, Marvel's relationship with Fox isn't as pleasant. It was made worse when Marvel decided to end their Fantastic Four comic books just to spite Fox, but Jackman still has hope a deal could be worked out in the future.

"I've always loved the very basic idea of the comic book world where on a Friday night you can have a couple beers with a mate and go wouldn't it be great to see Wolverine against Iron Man and bang Monday morning someone is drawing it," Jackman said. "I always thought that was cool. It is a very complicated world of rights, who buys what, at what price, and when. I think it is kind of great that they're melding in. I'm sure by the time that is all resolved it'll be past my day, but you never know"

Fox owns the rights to Fantastic Four and X-Men. They are the last significant Marvel properties that aren't in the Marvel fold. Will Marvel ever be able to use those characters in their cinematic universe? What do you think?

Next Spider-Man film arrives July 28, 2017.
