Furious 7 has blazed past China's box office records to become the country's highest-grossing film of all time.

The seventh installment in the Fast and Furious franchise broke 2 billion in the country's yuan currency, while earning $325.8 million in 15 days.

Furious 7 opened across 398, 897 theaters with 11.5 ticket holders in China, according to research group Entgroup. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Furious 7's strong numbers in the country are a result of heavy promotion, including a foreign press tour from stars Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, and Michelle Rodriguez.

But while Furious 7's success may be on cruise control for a few more days, it will face serious competition this weekend when Avengers: Age of Ultron opens on Friday, May 1.
