For a film as divisive (and in some cases reviled) as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, we're still getting fun insights and Easter eggs from the film to play with. From deep comic book references to nods to iconic character creators, works of art and so much concept art of what could've been, fans are still interested in what Zack Snyder did with Batman v Superman (for better or worse).

Batman v Superman Lex Luthor Theme Song is Superman Theme Song

Today we have yet another fun Easter egg to share, as it's now been soft-confirmed by Junkie XL, who worked on Batman v Superman's soundtrack along with Hans Zimmer. The Easter egg concerns none other than Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor, whose distinctive theme music in the film is revealed to be a distorted version of Zimmer's Superman theme song from Man of Steel.

DCEU Facts pointed out as much back in February, but as Batman News noticed, it's only been recently that Junkie XL himself retweeted the finding, solidifying it as yet another Easter egg. Take a listen for yourself:


Love it or hate it, it's become increasingly clear that Zack Snyder and the filmmakers behind Batman v Superman put a lot of work and details into making the film work on many levels. Fans keep discovering connections and allusions between comic book lore and high art, religion, mythology and so much more - which is pretty much the same function of good literature.

Of course, none of this is likely to sway the film's many critics, who still think it's just not the fun piece of pop art they expected from a comic book movie that teamed Batman and Superman onscreen for the first time. To each their own, but even if you didn't like the film, it's still fun to discover new hidden bits of trivia and facts about it, no?
