Ron Marz has kicked off his annual Comics For Tots auctions, which allow fans to bid on items like original art, signed comics and rare collectibles, with the proceeds going to Toys For Tots to provide underprivileged kids with a better holiday season. You can check out the first five auctions--featuring art by Darryl Banks, Stjepan Sejic and Scott Kolins, on eBay at this link. According to Marz, he is just beginning to receive and post items donated for the annual charity event, so the eBay account will be rolling waves of items for auction right through December. This will be the fourth year Marz has organized the Comics For Tots auctions, and each of the last two years have generated about $500 for charity. All the money collected (after shipping costs) is spent on toys donated to the Toys for Tots drive. "Yes, there are many worthy causes that need donation, especially at this time of year," Marz wrote on his blog last year. "I chose Toys for Tots because my own childhood memories of Christmas are so fondly held, that I hope in some small way, this effort helps make magical memories for those who might not otherwise have them."
