Stephen Amell Addresses 'Arrow' And 'Supernatural' Crossover Rumor

Team Arrow may not be meeting the Winchester boys anytime soon, but fans should never say never to the idea of a crossover.

That was the general message relayed by Arrow star Stephen Amell at Salt Lake Comic Con over the weekend. Amell noted that he was actually the one who, inadvertently, started the rumors of a crossover between the two CW series, Arrow and Supernatural, in the first place.

"I love how me wanting something creates a rumor," Amell joked.

Still, while a full-on crossover is unlikely, Amell would love to at least get a cameo on Supernatural.

"Without breaking the fourth wall with too much gusto, if I could show up on Supernatural as, like, someone pumping gas in their car or something like that, or just someone that they murder, that would be tremendous," Amell said. "And maybe it's one of those things where, I know that it doesn't make sense and I know that its one of those things where it's not the same universe, but at the same time its TV and its supposed to be fun so maybe, you know, one of these days [Arrow executive producer] Greg Berlanti will be sitting in a room with the head honcho of Supernatural and they'll just go, 'Eh, why not?'"

That said, Amell was eager to keep fanning the flames of the crossover rumor.

"I'm glad it's a rumor though," Amell whispered sideways into his microphone. "Keep it up. It's definitely happening. Keep it up."

While Sam and Dean may not have a trip to Star City on their calendar, there will be at least one high-profile crossover in Supernatural's upcoming thirteenth season. Supernatural will crossover with Scooby-Doo in a highly-anticipated animated episode of the show.

Meanwhile, Arrow will continue its crossover tradition by crossing over with fellow DC Comics television shows The Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl. This year's crossover is "Crisis on Earth-X," which will see the heroes of each show teaming up to take on evil versions of themselves from an Earth where the Nazis won World War II. Amell has referred to the crossover as a four-hour movie.

Arrow returns for season six on The CW on October 12, 2017.
