Russell Crowe played Superman’s biological father Jor-El in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel. He didn’t die once, but twice. That kind of makes it difficult to bring him back in future installments, but if it could happen Crowe would like explore the burgeoning relationship between Jor-El and Zod (Michael Shannon).

“What sparked my interest once I saw how Zack [Snyder] was creating Krypton. I’d like to see what made Jor-El, Jor-El.” Crowe told MTV. “What made him and Zod, who are folklorically friends, what split them apart.”
