Promotion for the release of Marvel's Doctor Strange is ramping up as the movie nears its premiere in overseas markets at the end of October. We here at Comicbook.com recently learned a ton of new details from visiting the set, but now new TV spots and posters are helping fans actually see the fruits of Marvel and director Scott Derrickson's labors.

Check out a new Doctor Strange motion poster featuring Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular character.

This particular motion poster is cool because its "motion" actually gives us something new and intriguing to look at, rather than just being a arbitrary .gif presented in poster form. There's was extensive talk on set about how Doctor Strange will present its form of magic in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with magic artifacts (like the Eye of Agamotto and Cloak of Levitation) helping Strange do everything from teleport through space and dimensions, or affect time. We've seen a lot of hand-waving incantation effects and some Inception-style rearrangement of reality, but this motion poster's kaleidoscope effect is trippy on a whole other level.

For the comic book purists: it's nice to see that Marvel Studios' designs for Doctor Strange's magic invokes a lot of the classic Steve Ditko artwork. Ditko was truly a visionary ahead of his time, to the point that modern movie audiences may soon still be blown away from seeing visuals inspired by Ditko on the big screen. If those moments are anything like this poster, it's going to be a pretty cool experience

Doctor Strange opens November 4, 2016; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – May 5, 2017; Spider-Man: Homecoming– July 7, 2017; Thor: Ragnarok – November 3, 2017; Black Panther – February 16, 2018; Avengers: Infinity War – May 4, 2018; Ant-Man and the Wasp – July 6, 2018; and Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019.
