Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

If you are not familiar with the world, then you should know it is the name of the North American school of witchcraft. The school was founded in the 17th Century in Massachusetts to protect and teach fledgling wizards and witches following the Salem Trials. Ilvermorny is situated on Mount Greylock in Adam, MA where it is hidden behind countless charms.

In Fantastic Beasts, we know that Newt Scamander will come in contact with alumni from Ilvermorny, and fans are hoping we might get to see the school as well. While the building may take some time to render on-screen, the end result would surely take fans’ breath away. And, if audiences are introduced to Ilvermorny’s houses, it wouldn’t take long for Slytherins and Hufflepuffs to clash with their U.S. counterparts.

And who knows? Fans might even get an inside look at Beauxbatons School of Witchcraft and Wizardry when the franchise hops over to France in 2018.

The Wizarding World of the Roaring 1920s

In the 1920s, the New York City was a roaring city. The metropolis housed many of the country’s finer cultural points such as music and sports. And, in the Harry Potter universe, the city also stood as the center of all things magic.

We definitely want to see what the Wizarding World looks like during this fast-paced period. Fans have already been told that the flapper aesthetics and Jazz Age will factor into Fantastic Beasts, but we want to see witches dancing on enchanted stages with charmed dresses. We want to see wizards bartending illegal liquors outside of prohibition so that their customers can drink Fire Whiskey. And, without a doubt, we want to see the these the fabled game of Quodpot played in person.

Quidditch fans might just jump ship after they see a game or two of Quodpot. The popular American wizard game was created in the 18th Century and focuses on explosive humor than down-and-dirty snitch spotting.

The Scamander Hippogriff Shelter

Before Fantastic Beasts became a film, the story was first pitched in J.K. Rowling’s titular novella. The story was a partial memoir and magizoology study about Newt Scamander. In the book, fans learned that the protagonist grew interested in magical creatures because of his mother’s job as a Hippogriff breeder.

Of course, fans would like to see Newt reference his time on his mother’s Hippogriff farm of even bring audiences to his childhood home via flashbacks. The scenes would definitely remind fans of Harry Potter’s own Hippogriff, Buckbeak – and then everyone willย start crying.

Werewolves & Lots Of Them

Let’s face it: we need more werewolves in the Harry Potter universe. The films introduced lovable wolves such as Remus Lupin and less-than-pleasant lycanthropes like Fenrir Greyback. Fantastic Beasts could give fans a better look into the mysterious creatures before Lord Voldemort seduced them to his dark pursuits.

There’s definitely room for Newt to run into some werewolves during his journey. The author does mention the creatures in his eventually textbook, and Newt is the man who created the Ministry of Magic’s Werewolf Register in 1947. Maybe the man had an unsavory confrontation with a rogue wolf during his travels and that is what prompted him to create the list of British werewolves.

Dumbledore vs. Grindelwald

Alright, so we might not see Albus Dumbledore battle Gellert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts films, but we definitely want to see the two clash somehow on the big screen.

If you aren’t familiar with the pair’s tenuous relationship, then you should know that Dumbledore and Grindelwald were once close friends. The friends bonded over their desire to see wizards reign above muggles, but Grindelwald took his crusade in a rather dark direction that Dumbledore couldn’t support. The former then began the figurehead of revolution which aimed to bring the Wizarding World to the forefront of mankind, and the endeavors reached their peak in the 1920s when Fantastic Beasts is set.

We already know that Dumbledore and Grindelwald will be part of Fantastic Beasts, so it’s just a matter of seeing them come in contact. And, if fans are lucky, we might just get to see the duo hex the heck out of one another.
