5 DC Kotobukiya Bishoujo Statues We Still Want
Kotobukiya's always had a knack for designing wonderful superhero statues, whether it's part of [...]
The Question (Renee Montoya)
Renee Montoya has shined since taking on the role of The Question, but she hasn't received much love in the merchandise department.
Kotobukiya would have a chance to rectify that with a Question Bishoujo, and it would come with two swappable portraits. One would be the usual masked look, which covers all of Renee's features, and one would be an unmasked look that lets her beauty shine through.
The pose would be an action pose so that there is some motion to her blue suit. It's not the most complicated of outfits, so it's important to make it as dynamic as possible.
prevnextBatgirl Of Burnside
Kotobukiya has already created a version of Batgirl for the line, and even released a color variant for it, but that was based on the classic design of the character. Since then Batgirl has received an incredibly popular redesign that is commonly termed as the Batgirl of Burnside version.
Batgirl was also one of the original releases from the line, so it's about time the character received a new update. The pose could be modeled after one of the debut covers for the costume, like in the image below, and she would be holding a Batarang with a rope attached, swinging it in one hand.
prevnextBig Barda
While she might not spring to mind when listing the most popular DC Characters, a perennial fan favorite continues to be the force of nature Big Barda, and it's time she got her own Bishoujo statue.
Barda's personality is boisterous and her combat style is melee focused and brutal, but yet she seems like she's always having fun. That would be the most important part of the statue, as the character needs to have a joyous expression as she swings whatever weapon they decide to equip her with. She loves the thrill of combat and its one of the many reasons why she's so endearing to comic fans.
prevnextMera
Mera has stood by Aquaman's side for a long time now, but over the last few years the character has truly come into her own, and that isn't going to change anytime soon.
Therefore it makes sense to give Mera her very own statue in the popular line, and Kotobukiya could have a lot of fun playing with the various water effects if they choose to include them. Mera is an innately confident person, and it's part of what makes her attractive. The portrait would have a sly grin, coupled with an action-esque pose that shows her commanding the water towards an unseen opponent.
Hopefully, Koto would use the opportunity to add some translucent water effects around the base as well.
prevnextSoranik Natu
The Green Lantern Corps once boasted thousands of members, but in recent years the cosmic police force has seen its numbers dwindle. That said, it's still managed to introduce some stellar new characters to the universe, including the daughter of Sinestro Soranik Natu.
Like with the Mera figure, Soranik's command of the Lantern ring would allow some creative uses of translucent green (or yellow) effects, either around her arms, hands, or the base of the statue. Koto could even offer up two versions of the figure, with her current Fear Corps costume being the primary statue and her Green Lantern garb acting as a limited exclusive.
Well, that's the list, but there are many other choices that fans would love to see, so make sure to let us know what statues you'd like to see added in the comments!
