A new report suggests that Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman will make fans wish of seeing their Deadpool and Wolverine characters on the big screen together come true.

In Jackman's last outing as Wolverine in the upcoming Logan film, Reynolds will be appearing as the smash mouth mercenary Deadpool according to TheWrap.

According to the report, Reynolds recently recorded a scene for Logan with director David Leitch which is expected to serve as a post-credits sequence in Logan. Technically, it is Reynolds' second time appearing in a Wolverine movie after debuting as Deadpool in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine film. It will be his third outing, altogether.

20th Century Fox has not commented on the subject.

Leitch took a seat in the director's chair after Tim Miller, who helmed the first film earlier his year, stepped away from the project citing "creative differences." Prior to Deadpool 2, Leitch's best known work comes from his stunt heavy film John Wick.

Logan takes place in the year 2024, where mutant births have become extremely rare. The defenders of mutant kind, the X-Men, are long gone, and the only remains of them are an old and struggling Charles Xavier and a weary Logan. Logan's vaunted healing factor has slowed, and at times doesn't seem to work at all. When a young mutant needs his help, Logan has to unsheathe his claws once more. His job isn't over yet.
